Market Conditions – Aaron Janus, Seattle & King County, WA,

Seattle and King County market expert, Aaron Janus, is reporting that as we look back at the first 3 quarters of 2008 we see that despite the seemingly relentless negative news about the market – the sky has not fallen in Seattle!

Now, as the last quarter comes to an end: is there more inventory than last year? Absolutely, Aaron says, but sales are picking up even if prices are softer.

Aaron reports that a major factor in the current market is all of the fear and uncertainty that has, understandably, completely eroded consumer confidence.

In his opinion, the area should see a post election stabilization whereby people begin to have a better outlook on their own personal situation, and thus confidence on a macro scale will begin to increase.

There also seems to be some concensus among his collegues that there is a certain amount of pent up demand in the marketplace.

There are qualified people out there that are sitting on the sidelines and they will begin to see some of phenomenal opportunities out there. When they do, many people are going to wish that they had not waited., Aaron reports.

As Aaron looks forward to 2009, he says you should expect a slow and steady return to a more balanced market in the Greater Seattle Area.

But in the end, your particular situation is as unique as your own home, and if you’re unsure what you should do, it always pays to consult a local expert.
